Yesterday, you attended a Town Hall meeting in my home county of Lebanon. Today, from what I read on Yahoo, you go on national news saying that the protesters are not representative of the people.
I disagree, Senator. It is out of touch elititsts like yourself who are only interested in keeping their government job who have no clue what the real world is like. If you would get out of the Washington bubble and read things besides the New York Times, Washington Post and Newsweek, you would know that government mandated health care is not what people want. Instead of taking away people’s liberty, you should unshackle the chains of bureaucracy that prevent people from having health care options. You should enact Tort Reform that would lessen the need for unnecessary and expensive tests. (But then, who would fund all the Democrat’s campaigns?) We want more freedom, not less and less freedom is what the House Bill would give to Americans. That is why we are upset and angry.
Our country is going down a slippery slope to Socialism which has ruined so many of the economies throughout Europe. God forbid, Senator, when you had cancer, if you would have had to deal with a state run medical bureaucracy. I am thankful that you didn’t. I would appreciate if you, your democratic colleagues and loyal soldiers in the media would stop insulting the American people.
I apologize for only having 2 degrees, one from a Community College, where you spoke yesterday and one from Penn State. I didn’t attend an overpriced Ivy League school, so therefore I should have no say in the future of our country.
As the liberals always say, “it’s for the children”. Well, stop saddling our children with insurmountable debt.
I thank you for taking the time to listen to me. I hope you would consider the things that I had to say.
Congratulations MR. Miller on a well written opinion with which I totally agree. Everytime the democrats want to push an agenda they throw out “for the good of the children” you reconized that tatic and called them on it. I question the politicians job performance when did Spector, Holden, Casey and the polticians in congress and the house forget they are there to represent our will, our wants, our voice not their own and not their parties. Tort reform, competition, and a voucher program for the lower income are all better methods that would bring about real reform not just changing the power from one beaurecrate to another. Mr Toomey correctly identfied the sorce of anger the people we pay the people we have hired are not listening to us.
Copy of letter I just sent to Arlen Specter
